Ever since celebrities like Rihanna, Kat Graham, and Shay Mitchell started posing on the red carpet and on Instagram with faux septum rings, fashion hounds could smell a trend in the making.
For spring and summer, your denim decisions won’t be restricted to whether to opt for brightly colored, white, gray, or indigo jeans — or, for that matter, whether to add a pair of ’70s-inspired high-waisted or flared pants to your denim rotation.

Last night’s Oscars awards ceremony was marked by a great deal of sociopolitical discourse, primarily in response to widespread criticism regarding the Academy’s failure to acknowledge great performances by actors of color (as summarized by the #OscarsSoWhite social media campaign) and, moreover, the overarching issue of institutionalized racism within the film industry.
