What I Wore — Pre-Oscars Glam Outfit For “Acceso Total NY” Appearance

The Academy Awards will be broadcast this coming Sunday so, in anticipation of the year’s most talked-about red carpet event, I stopped by Telemundo NY’s “Acceso Total” this morning to chat about some of the makeup trends we’ve seen this season. Given that I was going to touch upon classic Hollywood glamour playing an important role in some of the key makeup looks thus far (Lady Gaga at the Golden Globes comes to mind), I decided to put together an outfit that, while appropriate for a morning show appearance, still channeled some of that classic tinseltown glitz.

Inspired by Lily James and Alicia Vikander at the Golden Globes, I opted to wear a white dress — though, of course, not a floor-grazing, ethereal, or intricately pleated gown since clearly I wasn’t strolling down any red carpets or posing for photographers and chatting with Ryan Seacrest. Instead, I opted for a long-sleeved ivory dress by Robert Rodriguez (the designer, not the film director), which features an asymmetrical ruffle flounce along the chest and which is embellished with edgy but elegant gunmetal- and bronze-colored beads and paillettes along the shoulders.

For my jewelry, I chose some vintage-feeling, Art Deco-inspired pieces by Lia Sophia: a pair of drop earrings with inset crystal stones, a brass bangle coated in white enamel and featuring a hinged closure with inset crystals, and two rectangular rings with crystals arranged in geometric shapes.

I kept the rest of the look simple, opting for bronzed gold BCBGMAXAZRIA heels and my rose gold Citizen Silhouette watch.

To play up the old Hollywood reference, meanwhile, I added loose waves to my hair and a strong red lip, which I created using the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Rocksteady Lip Liner and Lipstick shades.

I’ll be sharing a recap of the segment soon but in the meantime, I wanted to share the outfit. If you’re having an Oscar-viewing party, perhaps this will serve as some fun inspiration!
