What I Wore On Today’s “Acceso Total NY” Earth Day Beauty Segment — Tropical Printed Dress and Accessories with Woven Textures

Earlier today, I stopped by Telemundo NY’s “Acceso Total” show to celebrate Earth Day by showcasing an assortment of eco-friendly beauty products — from cosmetics to skincare regimens, shower gels, body lotions, deodorants, fragrances, and haircare products. And, of course, I had to make sure I looked good!

I wanted to get into the “one with nature” frame of mind, so I opted for a figure-hugging Black Halo dress with a tropical print involving overlapping palm tree leaves in shades of cream, ochre, cedar, raw umber, russet, and sepia. Since the dress has a square neckline, I adorned my décolletage area with a statement necklace from BaubleBar incorporating multiple strands of oxidized brass metal chains, some featuring chunky curb links, others adorned with amber-colored, ball-shaped, translucent beads or jazzed up with triangular tiger’s eye stones, rows of almond-shaped rhinestones, strands of round onyx-colored glass stones, or clusters of  domed opalescent beads with fan-like embellishments along their lower rims. Since the necklace made such a striking impact, I kept my earrings on the dainty side while still adding the requisite dose of edge by putting on the BaubleBar Warrior Fringe Ear Jackets ($28 at Baublebar.com), brass-toned earrings with round studs encrusted with clear studs arranged in a floral shape and accompanied by ear jackets featuring 1″-long, blade-like brass metal strips with encrusted rhinestones and further embellished with tribal, arrow-shaped , brass-toned slithers that create a playful fringe effect.

To complete the look, I added a few earthy accessories: first, a 3″-wide Mikuti cuff fashioned out of woven banana leaf and made by a collective of artisans in Tanzania; second, a wooden shield-shaped ring (from H&M!), and brown leather BCBGMAXAZRIA sandals with two straps around the ankle and woven uppers adding a bit of texture to the design.
