What I Wore On Telemundo NY’s “Primera Edición” To Discuss Back-To-School Fashion Trends!
Early this morning, I visited the Telemundo studios in New Jersey to discuss back-to-school fashion trends on “Primera Edición.” We had some adorable child models for the segment (shown in the second photo above) who smiled their little hearts out and charmed the camera every chance they got. I’ll be sharing the video with all of you shortly, as well as details on all of the kids’ outfits (they’re all wearing garments, shoes, and accessories from The Children’s Place), but in the meantime, I wanted to give you the scoop on what I wore!
Though I’m a bit tired of peplum skirts and dresses, I was inexplicably drawn to this Torn by Ronny Kobo dress (though, admittedly, I’m magnetized by almost everything from the brand!). The one-shoulder dress features a black-and-white color combination that’s not only modern but has an artful, sculptural quality thanks to the curved lines along the bodice and peplum that create the desired color-blocked effect and emphasize the contrast between the two hues.
To keep rocking with the black-and-white trend, I chose to wear a pair of Vince Camuto sandals, which I purchased at Shoebuy.com, featuring wide straps with round and diamond-shaped perforations.
As for the accessories, I honed in on the galactic feel of the dress by wearing the Baublebar Cosmic Dust Galactic Drop Earrings ($40 at Baublebar.com), which feature onyx-color stones at their core with mesmerizing gold specks surrounded by clear and gray stones. I then wore a hinged, black enamel Lia Sophia cuff with Art Deco-inspired crystal embellishments and two funky rings: the Amrita Singh Thaisa Ring ($50 at AmritaSingh.com), which boasts a shied design and harbors a black oval resin stone at its center; and, next to it, a two-finger ring with a cross design which I nabbed at Payless for about $5.
As for the beauty look, I’m rocking Zoya’s Storm nail lacquer, a glossy black which has these amazing gold and silver specks to give it a space-aged feel. My eye look is a mixture of Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic eyeshadow pencils and powder eyeshadow hues from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. As for the lips, I’m wearing the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in 69 topped with OCC Makeup’s Lip Tar in Radiate.
