What I Wore on Telemundo NY’s “Acceso Total” Today! — 1950s-Inspired Floral Print Dress and Golden Headband with Roman Coin Motif
This morning, I once again stopped by Telemundo NY’s “Acceso Total” — this time to talk about some of the fashion trends we’ve been seeing on the red carpet and what we might expect to encounter at this year’s Latin Billboard Awards.
Three models donned fabulous Faviana evening looks, each of which spoke to a specific trend and was also inspired by a Latina celebrity’s style. You can see the three evening looks above: first, a shimmering bronze-toned gown with a mermaid silhouette and sheer cut-outs that create the illusion of nudity (a perfect choice for Jennifer Lopez), who loves bling-y dresses and also likes to flaunt her figure); second, a sleeveless, black-and-white, color-blocked gown that would look ravishing on Natalia Jimenez since it features modern lines that streamline the silhouette and create a geometric effect that’s strikingly modern; and third, a playful two-piece look consisting of a long sapphire blue skirt with a jeweled waistline and a bejeweled crop top with a high neck, a sheer insert above the decolletage, a sweetheart neckline with intricate beading and jewel-like embellishments. You can check out the three models’ looks in the last photo shown above (and yes, I’m at least a foot shorter than all of them!).
As for me, I wanted a frock that was ladylike and captured the optimism and joy of spring, and I fell in love with this ASOS midi dress, which features an ovesize floral print, an off-the-shoulder Brigitte Bardot-inspired cut, and a nipped waist with a voluminous pleated skirt featuring plenty of tulle to give it the desired fanned-out effect. The dress has a very pronounced 1950s silhouette, but there’s a painterly quality to the florals that makes the design feel fresh and current.
Since the dress had so much volume and made such a statement, I opted for only a couple of striking accessories — mainly, a gold-toned Nasty Gal headband covered in coins inspired by ancient Roman currency; an intricate CC Skye cuff with overlapping hexagonal shapes, each featuring inset crystals; and an Amrita Singh ring on my right index finger featuring a vine motif and adorned with smoky crystals.
I kept the rest of the look simple with a dainty pair of Carolee hoop earrings featuring teardrop-shaped cubic zirconia droplets; strappy Via Spiga sandals incorporating silver, gold, and copper tones; and an open Baublebar bangle with foil-like, teardrop-shaped gems on either end.
