Last week, I filmed a segment for Telemundo NY’s “Acceso Total” (which is poised to air on Labor Day) at Six Flags in New Jersey. Since we were filming for TV, I needed an outfit that was appropriate for the setting (clearly a ball gown isn’t a fit for a place with roller coasters, water rides, and even a safari area) but went a notch above the typical cut-off shorts and graphic tee. I chose this BCBGMAXAZRIA romper, which is both comfortable and chic. Though it’s black, the romper is nice and airy thanks to the lacy panels along the sides and the center of the bodice, which make the piece rather breathable.

Since I knew a fair amount of walking would be involved in the expedition, I chose these Vince Camuto ankle booties, which have golden stud details, a pointy tow and straps with golden buckles. To give the look a bit of a Boho-meets-Western touch I accessorized with a Brixton fedora.

In terms of jewelry, I kept things fairly simple, opting for a pair of oversize, triangular-shaped Amrita Singh stud earrings and a woven statement bracelet from Venesa Arizaga.

And, since I wasn’t actually going on any of the rides (as opposed to most amusement park visitors), I decided to carry a roomy tote rather than the more practical backpack or cross-body bag options, which I’d typically recommend in this scenario. My tote is a Rebecca Minkoff piece with a fun tropical print that I recently purchased during a visit to TJ Maxx (it was reduced to $59 from $210, so I felt like Lara Croft digging up treasures when I found it!).

Hope this gives you some fun ideas when you next visit an amusement park!
