What I Wore — 1950s-Inspired Look For Yesterday’s “Acceso Total” NY Segment on Telemundo

Yesterday, I stopped by Telemundo 47’s “Acceso Total” morning show to offer some tips on how to hydrate the skin during the winter season and, moreover, how to make sure those nutrients are being absorbed and that you’re working towards replenishing the skin’s moisture barrier. I’ll be posting a video of the segment shortly and breaking down all of the products showcased but, in the meantime, I wanted to share photos of what I wore on air!

I love mixing up my looks when I go on TV so, for this segment, I opted for a tea-length fit-and-flare dress with a high collar that goes across the neck, accentuating the 1950s feel of the silhouette. It’s an ASOS Collection dress and it’s made of neoprene, so that it adheres to the body rather nicely along the bodice. And, of course, the print has a fun, bright, kaleidoscopic quality that modernizes the dress, so it doesn’t feel plucked from a Leave It To Beaver episode.

To give the look a bit of a playful edge, I styled my hair into a half-ponytail but back-combed a ton of hair at the crown to give it more height and create a a bit of a bump. And, of course, I had to opt for a red matte lip! To get the look, I applied the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in 69 and then layered the Hourglass Lipstick in Raven over it.

As for the rest of my ensemble, I kept things fairly simple, opting for opaque black tights (it’s a bit too chilly in NYC to flaunt bare legs!), and a pair of Tabitha Simmons lace-up black booties. In terms of jewelry, I chose a pair of drop earrings from BaubleBar in a floral motif featuring iridescent, opal-esque center stones and a silver-toned statement ring by Dannijo featuring three pearls clustered together (I actually posted a pic on Instagram).  A single beaded black bracelet completed the look.

What do you think? Are you into the ’50s-inspired look?
