The Garden Collection By H&M — A Feast Of Florals

On Thursday, H&M will unveil its first fully sustainable line of apparel, footwear and accessories, to coincide with the coming Earth Day initiatives. The collection includes 80 apparel pieces made from organic cotton, organic linen, and recycled polyester, as well as 10 accessories, ranging from headbands to neck scarves. Thematically, the collection has a free-spirited Boho vibe, with pieces like an embroidered floral peasant blouses, a V-neck dress with a cinched waistline and floating wing sleeves, and a sleeveless maxi dresses with a ruffled neckline.

The flower child motif is taken a step further with the prints utilized, which range from bright, Carmen Miranda-worthy, watercolor-esque prints (as featured in the hip-hugging, ruffled collar dress with the draped skirt pictured fourth from top) to tiny buds in various colors arranged in an almost stripe-like fashion (as with the maxi dress pictured below) and whimsical sunflower and daisy prints (as with the peasant blouse pictured second from top). I also love the rosette detailing along the dressier pieces, such as the red strapless dress pictured below.

I’m not ready to speak on the quality of the garments in terms of texture or even fit, since I unfortunately haven’t yet seen the actual pieces, but the photos do look promising. I’m particularly smitten with the first and fourth dresses pictured above, and the reasonable price points for them make me all the more intrigued.
