Summer Style Sizzle — Cooper & Ella Unveils A Collection Of Pool-Ready Cover-Ups With Blogger-Inspired Prints
Think bloggers are losing some of their influence? Not a chance! Cosmetic companies, retailers, and apparel brands are still pouncing on every opportunity to collaborate with charismatic, forward-thinking, beloved fashion bloggers — both with those who have parlayed their massive followings and perceived influence into lucrative ventures and further cemented their brands, and with up-and-coming social media mavens with refreshing P.O.V.s and promising futures. This summer, Cooper & Ella has unveiled a new collection of beach- and pool-ready cover-ups with fabrics featuring colorful prints inspired by three different New York-based bloggers: Krystal Bick of This Time Tomorrow, Grace Atwood of The Stripe, and Christine Cameron of My Style Pill.
The capsule collection, created alongside Dream Hotels, includes three pieces — a kaftan ($88), tunic ($78), and a versatile pareo with a mini tote ($55) — each available in all the bloggers’ namesake prints: The Krystal, The Grace, and The Christine. All the pieces are available at The Beach at the Dream Downtown hotel in New York City and online at CooperandElla.com.
The Christine print, pictured at top in its kaftan iteration, is my absolute favorite, both because of the cerulean blue color and the tropical quality of the floral print, which reminds me of Birds of Paradise blooms and features fun pops of peach and orange. The Krystal, shown second above, has the most abstract feel of all three prints. There’s a definite retro quality to the color scheme that recalls ’70s Palm Beach pool parties, but the print itself reminds me of Japanese pop art, with the undulating red, yellow, and orange shapes resembling koi fish. The Grace print, pictured last above, taps into the joy and the brightness of the summer season with its punchy pink shade and fun-loving leaf print, each leaf outlined in bright yellow for a bit more contrast.
Check out the tunics in all three prints below:
And remember: if you fall for any one of the prints, you can also scoop it up as a pareo, which you can then tie around your waist and wear as a skirt, knot at the back of your neck and don as a cross-over halter dress, drape across the body to create a one-shoulder frock, and more!
Need a bit more convincing? Well, check this out: through cooper & ella’s Empower initiative, the brand will donate 10% of the proceeds from the cooper & ella x DREAM collection to 100cameras, a non-profit organization that encourages kids all over the world to use photography as a means through which to share their personal stories.
