I’m the type of gal who doesn’t like to leave the house without lipstick on — even if it’s just to go run a simple errand like pick up eggs and milk at the supermarket. Needless to say, on most days, I wear a full face of makeup: a tinted moisturizer, foundation, eye shadow, eye liner, mascara, blush, contouring powders, finishing powders, lip liner, and lipstick. When my day comes to an end, it’s essential to remove all that makeup and thoroughly cleanse my skin before heading to bed. After all, an exhaustive facial cleansing regimen is key to enjoying healthy and radiant skin. Getting #UnReady, then, should be approached with the same care and meticulousness as getting ready. Thankfully, Neutrogena offers a double cleansing method that removes stubborn makeup, draws out dirt and impurities from deep inside pores, and exfoliates dead skin surface cells for clean, soft, clear, and luminous skin.

I’ve often touted the benefits of double and triple cleansing methods, citing Korean beauty regimens, and as the Neutrogena Double Cleansing Method shows, you don’t need to spend a fortune to integrate these principles into your own skincare regimen and reap their benefits!

The first step in getting #UnReady involves the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes ($6.99 for 25 Pre-Moistened Towelettes Refill Pack; available at food, drug, and mass merchandisers nationwide), which are soft and gentle on the skin and yet are incredibly effective. In fact, they have been shown to remove 99.3% of all dirt, oil, and makeup.

At night, after cooking, putting away the dishes, going over homework with my son, and reviewing my last round of e-mails, I’ll often change into a tank top and shorts (my sleepwear of choice), pull my hair up into a bun or top knot, and head to the bathroom to wash my face and get ready for bed — or, at the very least, to watch some TV, read a book, and unwind. I start, of course, by removing my makeup. The Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes make this part a breeze!

I typically wear a lot of waterproof makeup, and it removing all traces of it can be a frustrating endeavor, but it has become stress-free since I began using the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. Usually, I can use one moistened towelette to remove all of my foundation, blush, and concealer, and then employ a second towelette to focus on my eye makeup and my lipstick (if it’s a stay-put, long-wearing product like the one in these pictures!). Usually, with other towelettes from rival brands, it might take as many as four towelettes to do the job, but I’ve been able to completely remove my makeup with just two towelettes when using Neutrogena’s wipes. And, on days when I’m wearing less makeup, one towelette is more than enough! Most importantly, these towelettes feel incredibly soft and they don’t irritate my oft-sensitive skin.

Now, many women are tempted to call it a day after removing their makeup with cleansing towelettes, but it’s important to go a step further and follow that step with a deeper cleanse that will remove any lingering makeup, decongest pores, and gently exfoliate the skin. Within the context of the Neutrogena Double Cleansing Method, Step 2 involves using the Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub ($5.99 at food, drug, and mass retailers).

This exfoliating cleanser contains a Beta Hydroxy formula (driven primarily by salicylic acid) that penetrates the pores, dislodging any dirt, oil, and bacteria that could lead to breakouts. Gentle topical exfoliators, meanwhile, help to obliterate any lingering impurities while also sloughing off dead skin surface cells that make the complexion appear dull and lifeless,

As you’ll see below, the Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub lathers really nicely, and it feels refreshing as you massage it on your skin. I typically find many mechanical exfoliators (scrubs that contain seed, beads, and other polishing ingredients) to be a bit too abrasive for my skin, but this one is nice and gentle, so that I encountered no redness or irritation after using it, nor did my skin feel dry, itchy, or tight. Just the opposite: my skin felt refreshed and soft.

After rinsing my face and removing all traces of the scrub, I’ll reach for my towel and dry my face off, before applying any serums and moisturizers.

As you’ll see in the pics below, after employing the Neutrogena Double Cleansing Method, my makeup was removed completely and my skin looks clean and vibrant.
