Say Bonjour To Great Skin With Votre Vu
Since the dawn of the “green” revolution, numerous botanical skincare lines have emerged to lure environmentally conscious consumers — and yet few have gone beyond bread-and-butter ingredients that smell like a combination between a barnyard and a hemp festival (substances like lavender, chamomile, oat extract, olive fruit extract, etc.). Skincare brand Votre Vu, however, relies on luxurious Parisian botanical ingredients when developing its formulas through a combination of both European and American techniques. Each product smells like a dew-covered flower garden or a tropical orchard — think avocado, papaya, tomato extract, lemon oil, white lily, bilberry, grapefruit extract, evening primrose oil, cornflower water, and more. Among my favorite products is the Tragic Magic Rescue Creme, which contains ingredients like: lime extract, which brightens the skin and helps with hyperpigmentation issues; vitamin E, which hydrates and protects the skin from free radicals; rose hips oil, which rejuvenates the skin by helping to repair damaged skin cells; softening jojoba oil; avocado, which soothes irritated skin and delivers a surge of moisture; and callophyllum oil, which calms even the most sensitive skin. As someone with sensitive skin, this cream has been an absolute life saver! It has a velvety soft texture, gliding right onto the skin with more ease than churned margarine (and sans any greasiness), and you’ll experience visible results in as little as a day (which is beyond uncommon). I first tried this product after suffering through a rather allergic reaction to a serum containing vitamin A — I’d been assured that this particular product was extremely gentle and yet, as soon as I patted it onto my cheeks, my skin felt like it was on fire. Desperate for some relief, I slathered on a teaspoon amount of the Tragic Magic cream onto my face — and, the next morning, I could already see some of the redness dissipating. Since then, I’ve been glued as to this product as Linus is to his blankie. It’s richly hydrating and even helps to alleviate breakouts and to minimize the appearance of dark spots and acne marks.
Another standout: the Sweep Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover, which has skyrocketed to my list of all-time favorite makeup removers.
