Morphing textures and consistencies have been increasingly popular in the beauty realm — from gel cleansers that foam when exposed to water, moisturizing face balms that seemingly melt to become lightweight oils, hair styling products that evolve from thick balms to dry powders, clay-to-cream facial cleansers, face masks that bubble, and so forth.
When speaking about summer hair, we tend to focus on easy and carefree styles (think beach-y waves, loose braids, and top knots) rather than on the need to properly care for our hair during the hottest and most humid season, one when we tend to spend more time basking in the sun, thereby exposing our strands to UV rays — not to mention immersing our manes in salt water and chlorine.
The last time I enjoyed smooth, soft, scrape- and callus-free hands (not to mention healthy cuticles) for any prolonged period of time, I was pregnant with my son, who is now 13 years old.
Even if you roll your eyes whenever you spot the names “Kardashian” or “Jenner” in newspapers, magazines, and blogs, there is no denying that the First Family of Reality Television is still setting countless beauty and fashion trends — from waist trainers and corset belts to pastel hair, plump pouts, ripped-to-shreds jeans, and sheer, lingerie-inspired bodysuits.

Earlier today, I stopped by CBS Austin’s “We Are Austin” to talk about beauty products steeped in different cultures and containing nutrient-rich ingredients from all over the world.

Regardless of who is occupying the Oval Office and whether you embrace liberal or conservative ideologies, the Fourth of July should be a day to set aside the subject matters that divide us, to shelf the political and ideological debates, and instead celebrate all the things that unite us — mainly, our love for this country.
Remember how Austin Powers would flash a toothy grin and mutter, “Oh behave!” whenever a foxy lady was saying something he gathered to be flirtatious and provocative?
