Life’s A Beach With Pacifica’s New California Star Jasmine Body Butter
A climbing, ornamental plant, the star jasmine is commonly cultivated in California both because of the its white blooms’ pretty star shape and its romantic fragrance. Star jasmine requires warm and humid climates to grow and thrive, so that the flower has become synonymous with summertime and tropical destinations. Pacifica founder Brooke Harvey-Taylor associates the aroma of star jasmine with her beachside Southern California neighborhood so, as a nod to the place she calls home, Harvey-Taylor just added the California Star Jasmine scent to Pacifica’s fragrance roster. The packaging, meanwhile, borrows the vivid colors associated with John Van Hamersveld’s 1966 The Endless Summer poster, with gradient horizontal strips of salmon pink, sunset orange, and coral red. White star jasmine buds and seagull shapes, meanwhile, are emblazoned over this sunset-like backdrop, completing the retro, beach-y, surf-inspired aesthetic.
The Pacifica California Star Jasmine scent is available as a spray perfume, solid perfume, roll-on perfume and body butter. Since my infatuation with Pacifica’s body butters runs deep, I decided to try the scent in its body butter form — and it’s now ranking among my favorites (along with the Brazilian Mango Grapefruit and Hawaiian Ruby Guava). Formulated with hydrating, skin softening mango and shea butters, as well as antioxidant-rich Vitamin E, soothing cucumber and aloe vera extracts, calming lavender extract, and healing rosehip seed oil, the 100% vegan California Star Jasmine Body Butter is easily absorbed by the skin and leaves a light scent that brings out the whimsical, carefree side of your personality.
