Neon Red Lips At Joy Cioci Spring 2012 Presentation
Color abounded in the Joy Cioci Spring 2012 presentation, with models donning long-sleeved belted frocks with embroidered rosette accents long the bodice and free-floating ruffles at the semi-sheer cuffs; off-the-shoulder blouses with watercolor-worthy prints in vibrant fuchsia and orange featuring wispy bat-wing sleeves; sleeveless marigold dresses with tiers of ruffled chiffon and and explosion of Victorian collar-like ruffles at the neckline; lavender evening gowns with fluid petal pieces creating an aquatic feeling; and much more. The Joy Cioci collection, then, managed to incorporate the brightest of hues while retaining its delicate feel, achieved via soft, ethereal fabrics and delicate, ladylike details ranging from ruffles and petals to crochet touches and rosette accents.
To create an equally vibrant makeup look that would accentuate the romanticism of the collection without clashing with the rainbow-worthy color palette, NARS National Makeup Artist Uzo decided on emphasizing two factors: dewy skin and neon red lips.
To give models a youthful, radiant complexion, Uzo applied NARS’ new tinted moisturizers, which will debut in Spring 2012, and then highlighted the apples of cheeks with the NARS Orgasm Illuminator.
Eyes, meanwhile, were left relatively bare. Uzo applied the new Lhasa Single Eyeshadow (also new for Spring 2012) to lids, followed with the Corfu Cream Eyeshadow, a pearly beige hue. Lashes, meanwhile were lengthened and plumped via a combination of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara and Larger Than Life Lengthening Mascara.
Last, to create the bold lip that functioned as the central point of the look, Uzo outlined the mouth with the Jungle Red Lipliner Pencil , a classic red shade, and then filled in the pout with the Heat Wave Lipstick, a semi-matte, orange-tinged red. To add a more dynamic, punchy look, she then applied the Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil a bright vermilion shade. The result was attention-grabbing, poppy-colored lips with a matte finish.
