On Monday, I stopped by Telemundo’s “Acceso Total” show to chat about one of the most playful fashion trends for Spring 2015: fringe!

This coming season, we’ll be seeing fringe trim on everything from jackets, skirts, and dresses to scarves, sandals, booties, necklaces, handbags, and earrings. In addition to giving garments and accessories an easy-going vibe and infusing a flirtatious spirit into any look, fringe offers pieces a sense of movement, swaying as you walk or twirl. With ’70s-inspired looks making a huge comeback this season, many fringe-covered pieces will be endowed with a hippie chic aesthetic that’s perfect for Bohemian babes. But fringe can also hearken back to the 1920s (think flapper dresses) or nod to Southwestern influences: either via tribal details or cowboy-inspired motifs.

In the segment, I focused primarily on accessories, but I did showcase two standout garments: the faux leather Nasty Gal Highway To Hell biker jacket ($99 at NastyGal.com), which features fringe trim running vertically down the sleeves for an almost winged effect, and the H&M Fringed Dress ($39.95 at Hm.com), a sleeveless frock with long threads along the front panel creating the desired fringe effect.

Below, check out more details on the jewelry, shoes, and handbags showcased — and don’t forget to view the segment (embedded above). Time to get fringe-y with it!

FRINGE JEWELRY

Four fringe necklaces were showcased in the segment. All four use loose chains to create the fringe effect, but they each accomplish the feat in different ways. First, at far left, is the Simply Vera Wang Beaded Fringe Necklace ($30.80 at Kohls.com), which features silver-toned metal chain strands  and shorter gunmetal-toned chain strands, some bearing coral pink, peach, and clear iridescent beads that catch and reflect oncoming light. Next, we have the Amrita Singh Mews Necklace ($40 at AmritaSingh.com), which features a colorful bib that alternates  between vertical strands comprised of interlocking, round, red, faceted resin stones and clusters of gold chain links. Third from right is the Baublebar Pin-Up Fringe Sapphire Strand ($30 at Baublebar.com), which features round, quarter-sized acrylic stones in a stunning sapphire blue hue, with antiqued, gold-plated metal bars dangling beneath these stones for an Old World take on fringe. Last, but certainly not least, there’s the Deepa Gurnani Untamed Crystal Cluster Fringe Necklace in Rose Gold ($495; visit DeepaGurnani.com for retailers), which incorporates long chain link strands dangling from a collar necklace with clustered pearls, beads, and crystals.

Ready to move on to some ear candy? Well, let’s take a close look at the four fringe earrings showcased:

At far left, we have the Deepa Gurnani Untamed Crystal Cluster Fringe Earrings in Gold ($165; visit DeepaGurnani.com for retailers), which features a cluster of faceted topaz-colored, teardrop-shaped crystals, round teal-colored crystals, pink pearls, and pavé-set clear crystals, adorned with loose chain links that dangle freely from the earlobe, grazing the neck. Next, for a daintier take on fringe, we have the House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst Tassel Earrings ($23 at Glamhouse.com), which  feature round disc-shaped posts with star-shaped blue enamel inlays at their centers helping to create the sunburst motifs that have become a brand signature and gold-toned chain link strands creating a tassel effect below these round posts. For a kitschier twist on the fringe trend, you can try the Suzywan Deluxe Amira Tassel Earrings ($35 at Nastygal.com), featuring long white threads dangling from diamond-shaped white acrylic posts, with a single gold- and gunmetal-toned chain link strand adding an edgy downtown chic vibe and accentuating the geometric motif thanks to the tiny charms dangling from this stand: one a square charm with an onyx-toned glass center and the second a gold-toned, diamond-shaped charm with an open center. Last, all the way to the right, you’ll find yet another playful option — this time in a silver hue: the Mint & Lolly Swiss Chocolate Bar Earrings ($19.95 at MintandLolly.com), which measure 3″ in length and feature a tassel-like silhouette.

Last, we have a dressier take on the fringe trend: the evening-ready Vince Camuto Trumen Sandal ($139 at VinceCamuto.com). These black suede sandals feature a 4″ heel, a brush of fringe hanging from the ankle strap and silver-toned beads and sequins embellishing the vamp and giving the design an Art Deco feel.

If you can’t resist a great handbag, then you’ll get carried away by these fun fringe styles! First, above at left, you’ll find the roomy tan-colored JustFab JF Festival Tote ($39.95 for VIP members at JustFab.com). This faux leather tote measures 13″ in length, 13″ in height and 5″ in width, and it features adjustable shoulder straps to ensure you’re comfortable when carrying it along. Layers of fringe along the front of the handbag, meanwhile, add a festival-ready spirit to the spunky design. Next, we have a stunning violet-colored lamb leather fringe hobo bag that just exudes effortless coolness: the orYANY Angie Lamb Leather Fringe Hobo ($288 at QVC.com). Shaped like a crescent moon, this roomy hobo measures 18″ in width, 11″ in height, and 3″ in depth, and it features a single shoulder strap with braided trim. Along the front of the bag, you’ll find two curved silver-toned zipper pockets for a biker chic touch, and plenty of fringe dangling from below these zippers and all along the base of the bag.

Prefer a smaller handbag? Then check out the two options shown above! First, at left, we have the Vince Camuto Malik Clutch ($198 at VinceCamuto.com), an envelope-shaped leather clutch with decorative perforations and cascading fringe for a country-chic touch. Those who favor cross-body bags, meanwhile, can gravitate toward the Nasty Gal x Nila Anthony Lizzy Suede Crossbody ($98 at NastyGal.com), which is crafted out of a royal blue suede leather and features a metal rod detail along the top and along the front flap closure and, of course, long fringe strands (measuring 16″ in length) dangling from the lower edge of the bag.

Hope this motivates you to have some fun with fringe!
