Look of the Day — Colorful in Tribal Print Skirt and Tie-Front Blouse
I’ve been basically bedridden with the flu for most of the week but, yesterday, I finally felt like venturing outside and putting on something other than my coziest tank top and silky boxer shorts. I figured maybe wearing a cute outfit would be its own form of medicine or, at the very least, that it would temporarily lift my spirits after days spent coughing, sneezing, and shivering under the covers. And what better way to feel energized than by wearing vibrant colors?
I reached for a flared tribal print skirt I purchased at Target a few weeks ago and decided to pair it with a sheer cobalt blue 7 for All Mankind button-down blouse, rolling up the sleeves and tying the shirt along the front for a flirty twist. Since the shirt was completely sheer, I wore a shelf tank from H&M under it, but you get the point!
To bring the whole look together, I put on a pair of yellow Kendra Scott earrings that harmonized with the skirt (and which cleverly incorporated a domed, almond-shaped blue stone set in brass) and then slipped on a pair of Kelsi Dagger wedge sandals, featuring rope-covered wedge heels and black elastic straps covered in stud-like accents.
And, believe it or not, even with a sore throat and some lingering body aches, I was actually smiling and twirling in that skirt! Talk about the power of fashion!
