Dark And Moody Wine-Colored Lips At Nicholas K Fall 2016

For Fall 2016, the brother-and-sister design duo behind Nicholas K stayed true to their brand’s urban nomad aesthetic while also giving their wares a dressier feel thanks to the use of luxurious fabrics like crushed velvet and rich ruby and amethyst hues. To complement the moodiness of these dark jewel tones, makeup artist Sarah Lucero, representing Stila Cosmetics, created a beauty look she dubbed “Night Shade” that centered on a bold, vampy, wine lip.

To color-correct the skin, give it full coverage, and create a flawless matte finish Lucero used the Stila Cosmetics Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer and applied the Stila Aqua Glow Serum Concealer to areas that needed to be illuminated, such as under the eyes, in order to keep the look from feeling to one-dimensional. Next, the Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation was used to highlight the key areas of the face such as the cheekbones.

The eye look was kept simple with just a wash of neutral color from the Stila Eyes Are The Windows Shadow Palette in Mind, while brows were accentuated with the Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color. No liner or mascara was used so that the emphasis was solely on the strong and well-defined brows, which balanced out the striking lip.

The crowning jewel of the makeup look was, of course, the provocative lip, which was created using the Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Chianti.
