Check out this Video of me Backstage with SheaMoisture at the Korto Momolu FW14 Show

I’m so excited to finally share this video with all of you!

As you might remember, last month, during New York Fashion Week, I went backstage at the Korto Momolu Fall 2014 show to work as a correspondent for SheaMoisture, capturing the hair and makeup looks created by for the runway. The final edited video is finally online, which means you can finally see what I experienced first-hand.

The video includes plenty of footage of the stunning and mega talented makeup artist Jackie Gomez creating the magnificent makeup look, which took a 1930s inspiration and then reinvented it to make it more avant-garde. The makeup look then was comprised of a strong graphic black liner and a bold emerald-toned pout. Gomez and her team created the look using Shea Moisture’s soon-to-be-launched Better Way To Beautiful cosmetics, all of which are infused with moisturizing and soothing shea butter.  Models’ complexions were given a subtle, dewy coverage with the SheaMoisture Better Way to Beautiful Wet/Dry powder, while the statement-making lip was created by blending together the SheaMoisture Better Way to Beautiful Elsa eye shadow with a lip balm mix.

The hair styling team, meanwhile, led by Diane Bailey focused on creating soft and demure waves with plenty of body. To create the look, they relied largely on the Coconut & Hibiscus Frizz-Free Curl Mousse, which gives the hair volume and flexible hold.

I also had the chance to speak with Christine Keihm, Vice President of Marketing for Sundial Brands, who spoke about the amazing synergy between SheaMoisture and Korto Momolu – from their shared heritage to their similar visions in terms of empowering women. And, of course, I chatted with Korto Momolu — who was eight months pregnant at the time and positively glowing— minutes before the runway show and she spoke about her own appreciation for SheaMoisture’s entire range of products and her excitement over their ongoing collaborations.

Take a look at the action and get a feel for the runway looks shown in the video above!
