Buenos días, my lovely readers!
Buenos días, my lovely readers!
My New York-based readers: I’m hosting a really fun event with SheaMoisture this Thursday, December 13th from 6 p.m.
We may not be able to invite all of our readers on a first-class flight around the world, but we can at least escort you there in spirit — which is, of course, why we wanted to choose a travel theme for this year’s Holiday Gift Guide, with each installment featuring items inspired by a specific city around the world.
Thus far, on our “Holiday Shopping Around the World” Holiday Gift Guide, we’ve strolled through Athens, skipped through London, and chilled in Stockholm and, today, we’re moving right along to Berlin.
For this year’s Holiday Gift Guide, we’re on a globe-trotting expedition, finding inspiration in different cities around the world.
The holiday season is a magical time and, at Sicka Than Average, we believe in preserving that sense of enchantment well past the I-believe-in-Santa-Claus stage of life.
When Kiehl’s first released its Rosa Artica Youth Regenerating Cream, a number of customers and beauty critics (myself included) commented that, while the cream did wonders to hydrate the skin, it also felt a bit thick, making it less practical for use on steamy summer days or in climates that are warm or humid year-long.

Typically, I would strongly advise beauty companies to refrain from using words like “heavenly,” “divine,” “celestial,” and “idyllic” when naming their latest products — after all, relying on such hyperbolic terms automatically raises customers’ expectations so that, anything short of perfection will feel like a let-down of burst balloon, spilled milk, and melted ice cream cone proportions.
