We’re easing on down the gift giving road!
Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving!
Christmas is coming!
Back in the ’80s, practically every girl in elementary school had her very own sticker collection: cartoon-inspired numbers, holographic tidbits, fuzzy pieces and, of course, scratch ‘n ‘sniff varieties.
Metallic fabrics, eye shadows, and nail lacquers always abound come autumn and winter, and this season is no exception.
Today marks the first official Monday in October (last Monday was September 30th so clearly it didn’t count), and QVC is celebrating by turning our “manic Mondays” into festive “mani Mondays.” Every Monday in October, then, QVC will showcase some of the most exciting nail art trends of the season in its Instagram feed, using the hashtag #qvcmanimondays for the campaign.
Think of the most sumptuous, richest, sophisticated, luxurious fabrics associated with the autumn and winter season, and you’ll likely conjure up images of jewel-toned satins and soft, skin caressing cashmeres.
After several seasons of ultra elaborate manicures hitting the runways — some boasting holographic, rubbery, or velvety finishes; others encrusted with pearls, sequins, crystals, beads, and glitter; and others featuring intricate hand-painted designs — we’re seeing a return to minimalism for Spring 2014, with a plethora of sheer pink, creamy nude, and soft gray nail lacquers.
For her Spring 2014 collection, New Hampshire-born designer Tess Giberson played upon the idea of a fashion remix, fusing together an amalgam of different aesthetics — from preppy to grungy, glam, minimalist, sporty, and edgy — in order to create something that defied categorization.
Forget nails encrusted with crystals, coated in icy glitter or boasting intricate color-blocked and half-moon motifs.
