For Rodarte’s Fall 2015 show during New York Fashion Week, designing sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy relied on Sally Hansen to mastermind a memorable nail look that would harmonize with the inspiration behind the garments showcased, as well as with the hair and makeup looks created for the runway. Sally Hansen Color Ambassador Tracylee Percival created the look seen back in February 2015 using three new shades of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure: Beige Glass, Rose Glass, and Gold Glass. As part of a five-season-long partnership with Rodarte, the three Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure lacquer shades seen on the runway are now available at mass food and drug retailers for $7.99 each.

The limited-edition Sally Hansen inspired by Rodarte collection emphasizes translucency and luminosity, playing with notions of sheerness versus opacity, light absorption versus reflection, lustrousness versus dullness. The subtle colors and sheer but buildable finish of these nail lacquers nods to the beauty look created for the Rodarte Fall 2015 show, which emphasized natural grace and elegance while incorporating glossy and iridescent touches. Like the Swarovski crystals makeup artist James Kaliardos positioned in a neat row below model’s eyes, these nail lacquers have a refined shine but it’s subtle rather than mirror-like or chrome-like. The hues, meanwhile, are warm but organic neutral shades that, however translucent, catch the eye and instill a sense of wonder. From stained glass windows to pieces of tumbled and weathered beach glass, they marry color and transparency in an exciting and intriguing manner.

Below, check out what all three shades look like on nails!

GOLD GLASS

Even after four coats (yes, four!) this yolk-y yellow shade retains some of its sheerness, so that you can see the natural division between the natural pink nail plate and the white-ish distral edge or free margin. The color isn’t quite a gold shade, as the name might suggest, but is more of a custard-like yellow with rosy undertones.

ROSE GLASS

This mauve-ish pink shade has the delicate, gentle vibe of a traditional antique rose nail polish, but the sheerness and jelly-like finish give it a fresh and modern feel. The hue is reminiscent of a fistful of seashells and rocks gathered at a pink sand beach in the Bahamas, while the transparency is worthy of a shallow, pristine, freshwater lake.

BEIGE GLASS

Like the coffee glaze a baker might use atop a cake or donut, this creamy hazelnut shade has a sugary feel to it but it’s also a classic neutral. Unlike a fully opaque nude crème, however, this reinvented neutral shade has an ethereal, artistic, illusory quality to it that makes it feel more romantic and wistful.

With this collection, your nails can, at least temporarily, live in glass houses. Just don’t let those glassy-looking hands throw stones — metaphorically or literally!
