Peach for the Stars with New Too Faced Cosmetics Sweet Peach Collection
Kandi, Phaedra, Nene, Kenya, Cynthia, and Porsha would all be delighted by the latest Too Faced Cosmetics collection, which pays homage to Georgia’s official state fruit: the peach. While trying the products in the Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection, I couldn’t help but smile as a wave of nostalgia swept over me. I recalled how, during the ’90s, I’d feel all cool and grown up while coating my pout with a strawberry- or watermelon-flavored Lip Smacker Rolly lipgloss and how I could never resist licking the gloss off my lips (yes, I was basically snacking on my lipgloss). Then, of course, I remembered Mr. Sketch’s Scented Markers and how I’d uncap the blueberry- and banana-scented colors and bring them right up to my nose before inhaling with near-frenetic enthusiasm (in the ’90s, marker-sniffing didn’t even elicit a raised eyebrow). Why the trip down memory lane? Well, because the cosmetics in the Sweet Peach line actually smell like peach — and not some artificial version, but the sweet, juicy, ripened scent of the fruit itself. And, unlike those Mr. Sketch markers, you won’t get a high from smelling these — well, other than the elation of wearing pretty makeup that also smells and tastes delicious!

TOO FACED SWEET PEACH CREAMY PEACH OIL LIP GLOSSES
As I often mention, I tend to prefer pigment-rich lipsticks to lipgloss, but there’s something irresistible about the Too Faced Sweet Peach Creamy Peach Oil Gloss ($19 each at TooFaced.com). For starters, it’s not too sticky or tacky; instead, it has a creamy consistency that’s really comfortable on lips but is never too heavy or cumbersome. And while it doesn’t deliver full coverage, it does offer quite a bit of pigment pay-off for a gloss — all while retaining a beautiful lustrous finish. Each gloss is infused with peach oil (a rich source of vitamins A and E, and a gentle emollient that’s suitable for even the most sensitive skin) and coconut oil (an amazing natural moisturizer), so that it nourishes, softens, and smooths the skin on your lips while giving the pout a pop of color. And, of course, it smells and tastes just like peach. That means when your bae kisses you, he/she will literally think you taste like peaches. Score!
Below, you’ll find swatches of three of the gloss shades: Peach, Please!, a light coral pink; Poppin’ Peach, a bright peach shade that borders on tangerine; and Papa Don’t Peach, a fleshy, tawny peach hue that’s got a bit more personality and warmth than a traditional nude hue.
Even the lip gloss names are quirky and fun-loving! Who can resist?
TOO FACED SWEET PEACH GLOW PEACH-INFUSED HIGHLIGHTING PALETTE
This season, we’ve been seeing a ton of highlighting palettes since, after all, everyone wants to achieve sun-kissed radiant skin — regardless of the temperature or weather forecast! The Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Peach-Infused Highlighting Palette ($42 at TooFaced.com), then, is designed to give your face everything it needs to achieve a radiant glow: from a darling peach blush hue to a luminous bronzer shade and a pearlescent highlighter hue in a peachy pink champagne hue (think of a Bellini!). Visually, the palette itself is just darling, with peach shapes embossed on the surface of each shade: smaller rows of peaches on the highlighter and bronzer and a large peach with the words “Sweet Peach Glow” atop the blush pan in the center. The case itself meanwhile, features gradient peach shades and the blushing, smiling, eyelash-fluttering peach character seen throughout the collection, who is so cute she merits her very own emoji.
In terms of the shades in the palette, they all glide onto the skin seamlessly and have a lovely velvety quality that makes them easy to apply and to blend. The blush and bronzer both have a satin finish, while the highlighter has an opalescent finish that really lights up your features. Check out swatches of the shades below:
As you can see, the peach blush has a golden tint to it that makes it feel very exuberant and youthful. The bronzer shade is the only iffy element of the palette since the color doesn’t offer enough pigment pay-off for gals with darker skin tones but, otherwise, it’s a lovely shade — especially when mixed with the blush!. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend using this palette for contouring but, if you want to achieve a sun-kissed glow and accentuate your best features in a way that’s totally believable (as opposed to the airbrushed-looking, pore-less, mannequin-like faces all over Instagram), then you’ll totally be sweet on this palette. Also, the colors smell like peaches, which is enough to make me smile!
TOO FACED PAPA DON’T PEACH BLUSH
Meet my lovebug: the Too Faced Papa Don’t Peach Blush ($30 at TooFaced.com), a bronzy peach shade with gilded pink pearls that not only give the apples of your cheeks a flirty flush but also brighten your complexion. The shade had actually been retired and was tucked away in the Too Faced archives, when Too Faced co-founder Jerrod Blandino had a fortuitous culinary experience that made him decide to take this shade off the bench! While dining in Paris, Blandino ordered a peach trifle dessert that features peached roasted on an open flame and caramelized, and he was mesmerized by the bronzy peach shade of the fruits in his sweet treat. An “aha!” moment followed, and he decided to bring back the iconic Papa Don’t Peach Blush, but this time package it in the cutest way imaginable. The metal compact, which features the collection’s signature peach character, will make your heart skip a beat, but that’s just the beginning! The buildable, luminous, blendable blush color is beyond flattering — it’s about as fantastic as the NARS Orgasm Blush (and that’s not easy praise to earn, ladies!)
Here are swatches of the blush:
Check out two photos in which I’m wearing the Papa Don’t Peach Blush! I applied it very lightly in these photos, but you can definitely build up the intensity:
Papa may not peach, but mama sure does!
