Blue Crush — Sapphire-Rimmed Eyes And Sweet Pink Pouts At Anna K Fall 2016

What does a girl with boundless energy look like? Well, according to makeup artist Carole Colombani, who led the Maybelline New York team in creating the beauty look for the Anna K Fall 2016 show, this live wire has rosy cheeks, perky pink lips, and eyes accentuated by bold sapphire blue liner.

To create the vivacious look, Colombani started by applying a thin layer of the Maybelline New York Fit Me! Dewy and Smooth Foundation and covering up any imperfections with the Fit Me! Concealer. Next, she swept the pink blush hue in the Master Contour Face Contouring Kit onto models’ cheekbones to give them a youthful flush,  then followed by setting the look with the Face Studio Master Setting + Perfecting Powder in Translucent.

Moving on to the eyes, she primed lids with the Maybelline New York Master Prime Long-Lasting Eye Shadow Base in Prime + Matte, using the handy wand to evenly distribute the product atop eyelids. Next, she traced the entire perimeter of the eye — the upper lash line, the upper and lower inner corners, the area directly beneath the lower lash line, and the outer corners — using the Maybelline New York Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Lasting Sapphire, a bold blue hue. To give the look a slightly feline quality, she dragged the line out a few millimeters at both the inner and out outer corners to create pointy ends, thereby accentuating the almond shape around the eye. A coat of the Maybelline New York Colossal Spider Effect Mascara followed.

Brows were filled in but kept subtle through the use of the Brow Drama Brow Pro Palette, which Colombani relied on to fill in any gaps and sparse areas. She also relied on the wax in the kit to keep unruly hairs in place.

Last, to create a pink lip that was striking but still had an innocence and sweetness to it, Colombani applied the Maybelline New York Lip Studio Color Blur in I’m Blushing and topped it with the Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid in Pink Charge, concentrating on distributing the deeper pink hue along the center of the pout.
