Song of the day: Madonna’s “Holiday.” You know how it goes: “If we took a holiday/Took some time to celebrate/Just one day out of life/It would be, it would be so nice.” Now, the holiday I’m going to reference, however, doesn’t involve a “we” — you can have this celebration all by yourself, no time off necessary, with just a bottle of the Votre Vu On Holiday Moisturizing Body Oil Spray. This lightweight body oil is, in fact, so nice, with its skin softening and hydrating mixture of grape seed oil, apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil, wheat germ, and jojoba oil.

The On Holiday oil features a spritzer applicator, so that you can spray it onto your skin and then smooth the oil onto the surface area you’re targeting. Now, normally, I find most body oils too thick and greasy to bear. Some are never fully absorbed by the skin, so that you wind up feeling like Burt Reynolds’ character in Striptease, in that scene where he covered his entire body in Vaseline and came out looking like a basted cowboy. And even those that do penetrate the skin surface often take forever to do so which means being paranoid about where you sit and what you touch out of fear of ruining any upholstered surfaces or delicate fabrics. The Votre Vu On Holiday Moisturizing Body Oil Spray, however, out performs almost all body oils I’ve ever tried — only the Kiehl’s Superbly Restorative Argan Dry Oil and the Tammy Fender Bulgarian Lavender Body Oil stand in the same category in terms of quality.

For best results, you should spritz it onto your skin right after showering, when your skin is eager for some moisture. The spritzer applicator will allow you to reach even those tricky spots, like your back, so that you can get a head-to-toe moisturizing treat. Within minutes, your skin will have fully absorbed the oil. leaving behind no stickiness, greasiness or residue of any kind. I tend to use the oil at night and I’ve noticed that, when I wake up in the morning, my skin feels noticeably smoother and softer. In fact, I have a mild case of keratosis pilaris on the back of my arms, and it’s even helped to diminish the look and feel of those pesky bumps.

Simply put: it’s a holiday from dry skin!
