Aqua Girl — What I Wore On Today’s “Acceso Total” Segment On Telemundo NY!
It’s almost April, ladies — and, since springtime is all about rebirth and new beginnings, why not infuse some life into our complexions and give our strands a bit more bounce? Earlier today, I stopped by Telemundo NY’s “Acceso Total” to chat about overnight beauty solutions: products specifically designed to work as we sleep, delivering deep hydration, stimulating collagen and elastin production, increasing skin’s density, battling hyperpigmentation, neutralizing free radicals, reversing cellular damage, and basically helping us look brand spankin’ new come morning! I’ll be sharing all the details on the products featured shortly but, in the meantime, here are the details on my outfit (which, let’s face it, is always a vital consideration!).
Since it’s still a bit nippy in New York City, I opted for a long-sleeved JB by Julie Brown dress but I picked a frock that had bright and buoyant colors that felt lively enough for spring. This particular dress has a slightly retro aqua blue coloring and a fun graphic print consisting of asymmetrical white and deep blue spots that are scattered sparingly along the upper half of the dress but then saturate the lower half, multiplying in number as your gaze hits the hemline.
Since the dress offers so much on a visual level, I opted for more delicate accessories: a pair of J.Crew gold-toned chandelier earrings in a floral motif, adorned with tiny chalcedony stones; a J.Crew necklace with round stations, each featuring two linear gold-tone bars along their center, and both translucent, rectangular, lilac-toned stones and opalescent round crystals along their outer perimeters; a stack of Amrita Singh bangles; and a caged Amrita Singh shield ring.
To elongate my legs and, I opted for a pair of high-heeled, open-toed Vince Camuto caged sandals in a gold-dipped nude tone.
My makeup, meanwhile, echoed the fun-loving spirit of the dress.
First, I wanted to create a radiant complexion. After applying a great primer (Per-fékt Skin Perfection Gel) and moisturizer (Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint), concealer (Clarins Instant Concealer), foundation (a mix of Tarte Amazonian Clay Full-Coverage Foundation and Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation), I started contouring my face, first using some cream-based products like the Tarte The Sculptor Contouring Face Slenderizer, the MAC Cream Colour Base in Shell, and the NARS 413 BLKR Illuminator. After setting my foundation with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder, I applied the NARS Orgasm Blush on the apples of my cheeks, and used the bronzer shade in the NARS Olympia Contour Blush Duo to add a bit more depth to the areas I’d contoured previously, finishing off by adding the warmer hue in the NARS Hungry Heart Blush Duo as a highlighter along the top of my cheekbones, down the ridge of my nose, and at the center of my chin. I then swept a tad of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light all over my face and set the look with the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Finishing Powder.
On my eyes, I started out by applying the Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick all along the lids, crease, and up to the brow bone. Next, I applied the NARS Porto Venere Eye Paint (a barely-there, pink-y nude) all over the eye. On the lower lids, meanwhile, I glided the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Peacock, then layered the Illamasqua Bedaub Cream Pigment atop it. Once I’d layered both cream colors together, I swept a lovely aqua shade from the Lancôme Color Design Eye Brightening All-in-One 5 Shadow & Liner Platte in 502 Vert Tendresse atop these cream colors. To give the eyes a bit more definition, I then applied the Urban Decay Mushroom eyeshadow along the outer corners and in the crease, blending it and diffusing it with the matte nude Freestyle eyeshadow shade (both hues can be found in the UD Smoked Palette). On the inner corners of eyes, I made a small “V” shape using the L’Oreal Paris Silkissime Eyeliner in Highlighter, blending it for a subtle but eye-opening effect. Next, I traced my upper lash line with the Revlon Photoready Kajal Eye Pencil in 304 Matte Marine, curled my lashes, then applied the Urban Decay Subversion Lash Primer, followed by two coats of the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. To groom my brows, I used the Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara and I applied the Too Faced Instant Attitude Brow Light below the arches of the brows to give them greater definition.
Last, on my lips, I started out by applying the MAC Prep + Prime Lip Primer. Next, I traced and filled in my pout with the Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip lip pencil in 21C. To give my lips a bit of pop, I applied a touch of the OCC Makeup Lip Tar in Anime, using a lip brush to do so. Next, I applied the NARS Schiap Lipstick, a matte hot pink, and blended it with the Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense lipstick in 10, a pearlescent, medium-intensity, lavender-toned pink.
To set the look, I spritzed the Skindinavia Makeup Setting Spray, and I was good to go!
