What I Wore — All About The Winter Glam Accessories

Once temperatures dip to the single digits, it feels impossible to look fashionable while also staying warm — especially given the amount of layers necessary to withstand the frigid air outside. I shiver once it hits 60 degrees so, needless to say, I’m not the type of gal who you’ll find prancing around in a flouncy skirt and booties — legs bare and head uncovered — during this time of year. Pneumonia is real, folks, so no thank you on all of that! Often, the way I’ll spruce up an everyday outfit is through a few elegant and eye-catching accessories.

Earlier this week, when I went to a Suave media event in Manhattan, I chose to add a bit of glamour to my look by throwing on a faux fur vest and a matching fedora, then finishing off the look with a statement necklace.

The foundation of this outfit is rather basic: a pair of black leggings from BCBGMAXAZRIA with motorcycle-inspired stitching, a deep hunter green French Connection top with long sleeves, and a pair of high-heeled, black leather, knee-high Dolce Vita boots. What makes the look more fashion-forward, then, are the accessories: a shaggy aubergine faux fur vest (purchased at TJ Maxx), a Merlot-colored fedora (an impulse buy at Target), a Kendra Scott statement necklace with forest green glass stones, and a black Snob Essentials handbag with a leopard print insert along the front patch pocket.

I love matching deep greens and wine reds, so I was pretty happy with the ensemble — plus, once I draped my black wool coat over my shoulders, I was warm enough to face those chilly New York streets!

Hope you like the look and that it inspires you to style some fabulous but toasty winter looks!
