When designing her Spring 2015 collection, Trina Turk drew inspiration from the LA Flower Mart, incorporating the intense colors she encountered when taking in all the blossoms on display. In keeping with this motif, Stila‘s Global Director of Creative Artistry, Sarah Lucero, created a makeup look that, like a floral bouquet, featured lively and opaque colors that still felt soft and delicate.

To give the models’ skin so luminous as to rival a dew drop, Lucero applied the Stila 10-in-1 Illuminating Beauty Balm to their complexions massaging the product in so as to offer just a hint of coverage while also plumping, hydrating, and smoothing the skin, giving it a lit-from-within glow, and perfecting its overall texture. Next, she made the skin appear even more youthful by using the Stila Convertible Color Cream in Camellia, dabbing the shade atop the highest part of the cheekbones and smoothing it in to create an angular but soft shape.

To give eyes a pop of color, Lucero applied the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Smudge Stick in Turquoise, a retro, greenish aqua shade, to the lower eyelids, using the Stila #15 Double Sides Crease and Liner Brush to blend the shade in until it appeared opaque but was subtly diffused along the crease and outer edges. Lashes were elongated for a flirty effect with the Stila Mile High Lashes Mascara.

And while we’re often told that a bright eyeshadow begets a muted pout, Lucero chucked those silly rules and chose a bold lip to accompany the intense eye look. In this case, she opted for the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Carina, a perky and delightfully opaque coral with a creamy texture and a matte finish.
