Cutting Up: New Shick Quattro TrimStyle

Summer is around the corner, and you don't want to have a moment like the one Miranda had while rocking this swimsuit on Carrie's Mexican-honeymoon-turned-jilted-bride-getaway in the SATC movie (remember how her pubes were creeping out of the swimsuit's sides? So gross!). You may decide to take a trip to Brazil (metaphorically, that is), or to go for a Telly Savalas-esque wax — but, if you prefer to have a little patch along your Southernmost regions, then the key is to keep the area nicely groomed and trimmed (no need for crazy weeds and unruly hedges, nah mean?).

With Shick's new Quattro TrimStyle, a revolutionary dual-sided razor/trimmer, there's no excuse for getting caught out there. This convenient and inexpensive device makes handling your bikini area a breeze. One side is meant for shaving delicate areas — the razor end features four thin blades, embedded in a soft surface that is itself infused with an Aloe & Duo-Vitamin Complex that sooths the skin, making shaving cream obsolete in your routine. The other side, meanwhile, features a trimmer  that can be adjusted by simply sliding the comb it into one of three positions (this will determine how close your trim will be). To activate the trimmer, all you have to do is press the on/off button and guide the trimmer along the desired areas. The trimmer requires one AAA battery to work, and the TrimStyle actually comes with a battery, along with a convenient cartridge for storing your little device.

The trimmer is a lifesaver when you need a quick shape-up (if your boyfriend pops up at your door unnanounced, your husband comes home early from that business trip, your girlfriends plan a beach trip at the last minute, etc.), and the razor, of course, allows you to shave away any stray hairs along your thighs (plus, of course, you can use it to shave your underarms and legs as you would with any other razor). Plus, it's a great way to save money in these penny-pinching times!

Shick Quattro TrimStyle, $10.99. Available at mass retailers.
